Texas Avenue Maker's Fair

The Texas Avenue Maker's Fair was so much fun!!!

This was my first time as a vendor in a craft fair...and I loved it!

I learned A LOT by checking out the other vendors and got some awesome ideas on what to do at my next craft show.

There were some really interesting stands out there and so many people!  I can't wait until the next one in the fall.

and the winner is...

M.G. !!!

You can visit M.G.'s blog here  http://filesnstyles.blogspot.com/

I used a free program called The Hat to choose a random winner.  You can find The Hat at this link http://www.technixupdate.com/the-hat-draw-random-names-or-find-lucky-draw-winners-names/

Thank you to everyone who entered!  I had lots of fun with this!

Keep checking back to see when my next giveaway will be.

What do y'all think...should I have my next giveaway when...
1) I reach 50 followers
2) the high temp in Shreveport is 90 degrees for the first time this spring
3) I lose ten lbs on my diet

help me decide!!!

I wonder which one of those three will happen first...hmmm...

CONGRATS M.G.!!!

I.am.so.so.excited.!.!.

I had to tear my hands away from the beads, pliers, and wire and force them to go to work pricing and tagging all of the jewelry for the Texas Avenue Maker's Fair this Saturday.

Fun? Ummmm....Negative. Exciting? Weeellll...a little because I'm a nerd and love playing with numbers. But guess what?!?!? I'm DONE!!!

I have come to the conclusion that I will not be a millionaire by Saturday evening (a goal you will be aware of if you read my blog - including my amazingly witty comments) but I could possibly be a hundredaire!

While being a hundredaire is not as thrilling as being a millionaire - it is a step in the right direction!!!

I'll be back to making more jewelry next week...but the rest of this week and weekend are gonna be busy for sure.

After work (yay) tomorrow - I shall run home to draw the name of the winner for my very first ever giveaway!!! Then it will be on to a sleepless night anticipating the fair!!!

If your in the area...come by and see me Saturday. You can find out the location by searching for Texas Avenue Maker's Fair.

Make sure to check back tomorrow night to see who wins the necklace!!!

The giveaway

Okay...nobody has entered my giveaway for the past several days, and that's really bummed me out. :( (this is my pause to give you time to realize how bad you feel for me) soooo... I know the lack of millions of entrants can't be because people aren't interested in the beautiful necklace that I have created, so I figured that it must be that

A) I don't have enough pictures
Or
B) The pictures I do have aren't good enough

because the necklace is remarkably beautiful...I'm not exaggerating...it's so stunning that I gasp every time I see it!!!)

So I have decided to take some more pictures, and post them here for your viewing, so you can ask yourself "why haven't I entered this giveaway yet!?!?!"

So go read the post about the giveaway and start leaving comments to enter!

Hello, helloooo!

I want to have at least 200 items to take to the craft fair on the 30th.

Right now I have approximately 129 items, so that leaves me with right at 70 items that I need to create.

So I have a little over two weeks to create these items in.

70 divided by 14 is about 17 or something like that. So that means I need to make about 10 times a day right? Maybe not.

You're probably thinking that I really suck at math right now. Really I'm good at math, I can do lots of mathy things in my head. But right now, I'm just not into it, and I'm feeling way too super cool to do math.

So anyway...I'm hoping that I can avoid my usual process, which involves waiting until the last minute, and needing to do way too much in way too short a time.

Maybe I can go to the other end of the spectrum, and end up with like 300 items to take with me to the craft show.

Anyhow, I plan on being super rich by the end of this craft show. Which may not be the best plan but it is a plan nonetheless.

If, by some strange occurrence, I'm not a millionaire by 5 PM on April 30, then I shall return to my normal mundane life with sadness in my heart.

But I seriously doubt that I'll have to worry about that.

Ok...so now for the time that the giveaway will be running.

I think we will have the drawing on April 29th!  I am going to be at the Texas Avenue Maker's Fair all day on the 30th so I will hopefully be too busy to be drawing anything that day!!!

So what's left...hmmmm...I think that's it.

Oh yeah!  What is the drawing for!!!   I chose this necklace!  It's one of my favorites that I recently made.

The pendant is made of shell, it's 2 1/2 inches from top to bottom and has a beautiful pearly white background with a black rose on it.
All of the beads are glass or hematite.
I used a mixture of all diferent shapes and sizes in black, white, and the hematite.
The length of the necklace is 30".
The closure is a scrolly, fancy toggle clasp.

ok...you can start entering today!

please let me know if anything is confusing or unclear...and good luck!

oh...one lase thing - if the first name drawn is a friend or family member - I will draw again until I draw the name of someone that I do not know other than as a follower on my blog.

YAY!!!

It's time!

And no...I'm not in labor...but it's time for my first ever giveaway!!! Check back this evening for all the super fun details on winning an original one-of-a-kind peice of jewelry, handmade my yours truly!

Please note: family and friends ARE eligible...but if the name drawn belongs to a family member or friend I will also draw a winner who I do not know personally. So there is the potential for two winners!!!

How much of a nerd I am???

I am having a blast...and I do mean a BLAST coming up with a system for assigning item numbers to my jewelry for the purposes of invoicing and tracking.

I have been so busy!!!

And part of the things I have been busy with are jewelry related!

I have several new necklaces to post pics of...and I also need to get them listed on Etsy.

I'm always trying to think of new things to try with jewelry designs and I made a couple of necklaces last night that I think are really cool.

I am still trying to get to 25 followers so that I can have that first giveaway...so if you are reading this and know someone who would love a chance to win a piece of jewelry...send them a link and tell them to follow my blog!

It will get more interesting...I promise!

I am planning on posting a lot of new pictures either tomorrow or Saturday...I can't wait to share them!

I still need someone to take all the pictures and post them for me so that I don't have to spend all my time doing that instead of making wonderful jewelry...but...maybe one day!

I am working on a plan for a couple of people who have contacted me wanting to do their own giveaway using a piece of my jewelry...so...look forward to seeing some information about that once I work out the details.

Also...I plan on being in a local craft show at the end of the month and I am super excited about that.

Watch for an update on that in the next day or two.  If you are local I would love for you to stop by and see me!

See you tomorrow!

pieces i made today

i should definitely be in bed right now...but i want to post pics of the work i did today

so, real quick, here they are! thanks for looking!

I couldn't decide what beads I wanted to try!!

This was actually the last one I made

I was going to do white and black on this one...but there is the faintest hint of pink in the shell pendant...so I did pink and black!  I think it turned out great!

notice the metal flower beads match the pendant...I just happened to have the flower beads.
red fire polished beads, and a cute lampwork flower bead

this pendant started out as an earring...the beads are glass

another simple, yet pretty, all metal necklace

Gunmetal Daisy

Here is the Etsy listing for th Gunmetal Daisy necklace

Well...

I figured out that what I thought was dust on the rose necklace from last night...mostly wasn't.

It seems that, on a close up picture, there are just some airbubbles (i guess) that you can't see otherwise.  It's a little strange.  Anyway...here is a link to the listing on Etsy.

some new jewelry

Ok...I made three necklaces tonight.

The first...I love because of it's simplicity...and one great thing is that I really will only have to charge for the price of the supplies because it really just had to put the chain on a clasp, then add the flower.

it's a box chain
both the flower and the chain are gunmetal

sorry about the lighting...you can see a reflection of the lights  :(

This necklace is gorgeous! I have to take a new picture though because there is dust all over the rose!!!
I couldn't see it until I started editing pictures and I already put everything away.
They were some good pics too.

These are pics of the second necklace I made for my friend.
I posted about it a few days ago...I guess a week now...and I made her the chain necklace almost a week ago and just now made the second.

For a pic of how the necklace started out - look back to a week ago.
