Here they are!

Here is what I have made so far from my new - "not my usual beads" - purchase!

I had so much fun and only wish I had more beads...like lots more.

I stayed up late last night putting these together...I finally went to bed when I started dropping every bead I picked up lol

These are the big pottery flower beads and the bronze diamond beads that I bought yesterday.
I put them with some black, glass pearls and some simulated turquoise rondelles - then I added some tiny metal spacers
this picture shows the rondelles better, not as much glare
 this is the "matching" bracelet
These are pottery beads and the metal swirl beads from yesteday - I added the hematite beads I bought yesterday and some small round metal beads

The necklace has pretty much the same design as the bracelet - I love this necklace.  I think the beads go together wonderfully!

All of the beads in this bracelet were from my purchases yesterday.  The only pieces I added from my stash at home are the tiny flat metal spacers - well, and the toggle  :)

ok...again - the two big beads are from my purchases yesterday and I added some hematite (also from yesterday - got a lot of mileage out of the hematite :)  then I added some spacers - I put an extension on this one of 3" for anyone who wants a longer necklace
ok...one of my favorites!!!  I am NOT a girly girl - at least I don't think so (I've been wrong before) but I love the flowers!!!  This is definitely a summer necklace to me!
ok...that's it for now.  I guess I'm gonna go and use the rest of my new beads!

maybe I can draw them out and make them last a few more days.  One necklace per day sort of thing.  we will see!

Can you guess what this is?

I got super creative today and decide to make something that will take some of the trouble and guess work out of my jewelry making.

Can you guess what this is???

New beads!

So...here are the pictures of the wonderful, exciting new beads that I bought today!!!

I can't wait to play with them.

I think I have mentioned this once or five times before - but picture taking is my least favorite part of creating jewelry!   But - I suffer through.

Ok...these are not necessarily grouped the way they will be in the jewelry I create - but these are the beads I got today.

The big flowered porcelain ones are my favorites I think.  They are about 1 1/2 inches high.

These earrings and necklaces came from a local discount jewelry store.

I like to get their stuff and take it apart.  I don't use many of the beads because they are plastic and I don't use the plastic beads - but I love the shell pendants and I cannot find them in stores anywhere!!!

So...those are the items I bought today!  Can't wait to un-package it all and start playing!!!

Any local beaders wanna join me?

Shopping

I am out shopping for jewelry ingredients and made a brave decision.

I bought only beads that I would never usually use.

I always use little stuff, and there are certain colors that I run away from for some reason.

So when I get home I will post some pics of the awesome beads that I purchased today.

I also ventured out of my comfort zone by choosing beads without having a "plan" for them yet. See usually, I can't put those beads in my buggy until I have a pretty solid idea of what the finished piece will look like or, at the very least, knowing exactly what beads I am going to pair the new beads with.

So I told myself to be brave and I picked 5 different strings of beads.

I have to admit that I did go back and choose pieces to go with them (I knew I didnt have what I would need at home) but that was after I knew for sure these beads were coming home with me.

It was actually a lot of fun.

Yay beads!!!

ok...i have no excuse

but that doesn't mean I won't try making one!!!

I have been super busy
  • working
  • having a table at the Farmer's Market
  • making jewelry
  • shopping at Hobby Lobby
  • dog sitting
  • house sitting
  • sitting on the couch
  • cooking food
  • eating the food I cooked
ok...I feel I have justified my absence...whew!

So...I really have been doing all those things and every now and then I imagine that I hear this tiny little voice calling out from the vicinity of my computer. (notice I did say "imagine" I didn't say I actually hear it...you are way too literal)

I have finally gotten started on my website!!!

I didn't list it up there because I forgot...but I have!

The web address is
www.somethingmeaningfulcreations.com

Now...before you go look at the website (even though I know some people will read this after they look)
it is brand new...and it doesn't have a whole lot.

I will work on uploading some pictures and eventually I hope to actually have items for sale on my website.

For now...you can still look at pictures by clicking on one of the links to the left.

I plan on swinging back by here in the next week or so to start another giveaway!!!

I am going to try to do better!  I promise!!!

Shame on me...

I have been a horrible blog owner  :(

If my blog were a hamster...well...let's not go there I guess.

Anyway...I have been slaving away (not really) getting ready for the Farmer's Market...it started last weekend but my booth wasn't available until tomorrow.

I will have a booth for the next seven weeks in a row...and I'm super excited!

I will post pics sometime before the end of the year!  I can at least promise that!

Oh...and that piece that I have for the giveaway...don't worry - I won't sell it!
